William Bryan Wilson (1914-1993) was born in Henry County, Georgia. His family moved to Atlanta in 1923 where he remained for the rest of his life. Wilson graduated from Tech High School in 1932 and went on to study Electrical Engineering at Georgia Tech while working at night for the Associated Press. Agnes Scott College was chartered in 1889 in Decatur, Georgia as the Decatur Female Seminary. In 1890, due to a large donation by George W. Scott, the school was renamed Agnes Scott Institute to honor his mother.
